A series of projects were approved under the Ontario’s Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program allowing to power about 15,000 homes by new renewable energy in the coming years. 500 renewable energy contracts, most of which are solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, are offered by the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) under the third installation of the FIT program.

Canada: Ontario's Grid expecting Energy Storage Projects

New energy storage projects intended to help increase grid reliability and efficiency have been announced by the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), Ontario's grid operator. At the same time, the projects are meant to maximize the output from wind and solar power.

At the World Expo 2015 in Milan, the German pavilion will use organic photovoltaic (OPV) modules supplied by Belectric. Embedded in a flexible film, the OPV modules will enable to create stylised trees generating energy and providing shade for the visitors.
