Information about german renewables energy industries, companies and products.

It is the official aim of the German Government to pay a significant contribution to international climate protection. To that end, the Government has actively been supporting the worldwide dissemination of cutting-edge German renewable energy technology and know-how since 2002. The transfer of renewable energy know-how, the promotion of foreign trade and the facilitation of international development cooperation are part of the "renewables - Made in Germany" initiative.

The initiative is carried out under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in cooperation with various partner organizations, such as the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, Germany Trade and Invest, the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (German Energy Agency), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH (German Technical Cooperation or GTZ) as well as relevant industry associations. The German Energy Agency is responsible for national and international public relations.

About "renewables - Made in Germany"
What steps must be taken to ensure climate protection? What will the energy mix of the future look like? Questions such as these dominate political debate around the globe. In view of rising energy prices and the challenges posed by climate change, the topic of renewable energies has now become one of the most important themes on the political stage. Renewable energies will play a significant role in the energy mix of the future.

As a result of the consistent and early promotion of renewable energies in Germany, many German companies have become world leaders in their fields. German technology suppliers possess valuable long-time experience from the realisation of both national and international projects and in the development of customised solutions. The 'renewables - Made in Germany' brand represents innovative, practical and efficient technologies and services which utilise renewable energy sources in many ways, ranging from rural electrification to industrial-scale power stations. "renewables - Made in Germany" also contribute significantly to climate protection. In Germany, renewables supplied around 15% of the gross electricity consumption and 8% of the final energy consumption for heat in 2008, thereby preventing the emission of around 112 million tonnes of CO2 annually.
