The Italian company Italgen is going to invest 140 million Euros in Egypt to set up a wind power plant with a capacity of 120 megawatts. The location is along the coast of the Red Sea in the Gulf El Zeit area and the CO2 emissions will be reduced by 257,000 tons per year. The produced energy from this project is expected to be utilized in the production processes of Suez Cement, a company belonging to Italgen.
