India and Europe have signed a new cooperation deal on green energy
The deal renews the previous commitment of Europe and India to improve the cooperation in the energy field, which aims to identify mutual beneficial joint activities.
In particular topics like clean coal , renewable energy, energy efficiency and safety as well as on-grid issues are seen as activities with high beneficial potential.
The deal aims to bring together EU institutions, EU member states and the EU private sector with India and mirrors the political efforts concerning improving their renewables sector in the longterm, namely the "Europe 2020 plan" and Indias "Five year plan".
They commited to share best practices regarding renewable energy in order to ensure a sustainable development for all citizens. The agreement not only promotes the green energy development, it further contributes to job creation and business possibilities.
