Ikea today said it will add more solar power panels to the roof of its two-year-old Centennial store, nearly doubling the store’s ability to generate electricity from solar power and creating Colorado’s largest rooftop solar power plant.
In a move to boost renewable-energy generation in Colorado, Gov. John Hickenlooper on Wednesday signed a controversial bill doubling the renewable-energy target for rural electric cooperatives.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will hold the auction on July 31 and offer up 164,750 acres about 9.2 nautical miles off Rhode Island and Massachusetts for wind energy projects. The auction will result in two leases.
Investors recently chipped in $15 million to fund battery startup EOS Energy Storage, a company that says its batteries could eventually compete with natural-gas power plants to provide power during times of peak demand.
