The German American Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Wind Energy Clearinghouse are going to host the 3rd Texas Offshore Wind Energy Roundtable (TOWER) Conference on September 5-6, 2012 in Houston, TX.
The conferences will offer a forum to exchange and foster transatlantic cooperation in the field of offshore wind energy. It is an annual event held to promote the large Texas offshore wind market potential and allow for leading players in the industry to network with each other and exchange ideas.
With federal support, the offshore wind industry continues to have wind in its sails. In his 2012 State of the Union Address, President Barack Obama called for further expansion of clean energy in the United States, including offshore wind. With the Production Tax Credit (PTC) set to expire at the end of 2012, President Obama asked Congress to extend such tax credits. His administration will furthermore support the industry through administration initiatives, such as a Department of Defense program that will use public land to develop renewable energy projects that will power up to 3 million households.
The wind that is driving offshore developments across the nation is also blowing in Texas. The 3rd Texas Offshore Wind Energy Roundtable (TOWER Conference) & Offshore Wind Law (OWL) Conference, hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Southern US, Inc., Houston Office, seeks to help industry leaders from Texas take advantage of current momentum by bringing some of the top minds from Europe and the US to Houston, TX. Conference participants can expect to be caught up on the latest developments in the Texas offshore wind market and to be able to network with some of the biggest players in the offshore industry from the Gulf Coast region.
Featuring more than 25 hours of intensive, cutting-edge information and powerful networking, this year's program will address the state of the industry globally and locally. The conference will feature turbine showcases, installation, ports & infrastructure, offshore wind law, environmental issues and finance & insurance topics.
