BC Hydro and Nanaimo Forest Products Ltd. have concluded a 15-year electricity purchase agreement according to which Nanaimo FP will be generating and selling clean power to BC Hydro, starting in 2013. In accordance with this Integrated Power Offer, BC Hydro will buy clean energy from a new 25 MW turbo-generation unit that is being constructed by Nanaimo FP at the Harmac Pacific pulp mill, located south of the town of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island, B.C.
